  4. Hard Questions If God is so good, why is there so much evil in the world? If following Christ is the only true way, what about those who have never heard? What about sincere Muslims, Buddhists, etc.? Why is the Bible the only “word of God?” ? ? ?

  5. In other words . . . • Why the Bible? Why not the Quran, the BhagavadGita, the Upanishads, or any other “holy” book? • Isn’t the Bible filled with historical errors? • Isn’t the Bible filled with culturally troubling teachings that are “untrue, non-sensical, wacky and immoral” (acc. to Bill Maher)?

  6. In other words . . . • 1. Why the Bible? Why not the Quran, the BhagavadGita, the Upanishads, or any other “holy” book?

  7. In other words . . . • Isn’t the Bible filled with historical errors? • options: • The Bible is intended to be historical fiction or myth – not truth. • or • The Bible is truthful in what it records.

  8. In other words . . . • Isn’t the Bible filled with culturally troubling teachings that are “untrue, non-sensical, wacky and immoral?” • options: • The Bible was composed at a different time and many of it’s teaching are out of date. It is basically irrelevant for today’s world. • or • The Bible was revealed over a long period of time and it’s teachings are both contextual, true and relevant.
