What the research shows us: • Families play a critical role in children’s development & school success • If families have a strong connection to school the likelihood of a student “falling between the cracks” is lessened • Family engagement is critical to school success • When families are engaged in their children’s education: Student test scores and grades increase Behaviors decrease Attendance improves Overall outcome of graduating dramatically increases

  3. Community Schools Resources deliver co-located or school linked academic, health, nutrition, mental health, and counseling services to students and their families Northern New York area schoolsare the common denominator for the placement of services!

Community Schools CoSer • Designed to improve student learning • Building stronger families • Creating healthier neighborhoods • Integrated programming • Interweaves academic support, social emotional learning, medical and dental services into the school setting • Financial win for a district to partner with another school for services
