  1. KING MIDAS King Midas was king of Pessinus. He was adopted by Gordias and Cybele. King Midas was known for his pristine rose garden and love of the pleasure of life. Also he had a lovely daughter that he truly loved. One day when King Midas was going to his garden he saw an elderly satyr sleeping in his garden. King Midas woke him up and let him go without any punishment, the elderly man returned to Dionysus where he belonged. Dionysus was thankful that Midas let him go so he granted one wish to King Midas. King Midas wished that everything he must touch should turn into gold, so Dionysus granted his wish. The next day King Midas went to his garden to pick some roses but when he touched them they all turned gold. Then when it was time to eat dinner he couldn’t eat or drink because every time he would touch something it will turn gold, so King Midas starved. Then one day King Midas daughter was glad to see her father, she began to run right into his arms. As soon as she hugged him she turned gold. King Midas was so sad and he knew that the golden touch had to go away. He asked Dionysus to turn everything back as it was and take back the golden touch. Dionysus took pity on him and took the golden touch away. King Midas was glad that everything was back to normal and very happy that his lovely daughter was back. He realized that he felt in things that really count.
