  1. Guidance for group work Kari Korhonen

  2. Aims of the group work: • Make a proposal for the scope of tables in the 2015 SoEF Questionnaire 2. Check compatibility with the FRA CFRQ tables and make recommendations: is the CFRQ table appropriate & in coherence with SoEF reporting needs. NOTE: No proposals for changes in Global FRA tables are expected. 3. Evaluate the proposed SFM assessment method indicator by indicator.

  3. Expected output from the sub groups • Recommended scope of tables for the SoEF2015 Questionnaire: • Recommended variables, classifications and reporting years. • Discuss definitions only if inevitable or if the group has enough time. • Recommendations for the SFM assessment; proposed parameters, categories, warning levels.

  4. Working method: • Go indicator by indicator through the list of tables in your group of indicators. Check how this is covered in the FRA2015 CFRQ tables. • Try to provide a clear proposal for the scope of information that will be collected and the reporting years. If this is impossible provide a clear description of the problem and possibly a recommendation how to solve it in the preparatory process. Avoid spending too much time to details of definitions. • Discuss the proposed parameters of the assessment (Chapter 4): Are the parameters relevant, categories appropriate and warning levels justified?

  5. Working method: • Take care that you can cover all the 3 points above. We recommend progressing indicator by indicator, covering both the enquiry table related questions and assessment related question at the same time. Only if there is time left after that: discuss the details of definitions. • Enquiry tables relying on data coming from international data providers are secondary. Primary goal is to cover the tables relying national data.

  6. Working method: • Use the distributed Word-document to make recommendations and other comments to the enquiry tables. Edit and add new tables etc. if necessary. • For the assessment part – write your comments directly in the background document on the method

  7. Working Groups 1: Forest resources & Carbon + Health & Damage (C1+C2) • Kari and Johannes (English and Russian) 2: Productive functions + availability for wood supply (C3) • Stein and Andrius 3: Biodiversity and Protective functions (C4+C5) • Jari and Andreas 4: Socio-economic indicators (C6) • Jan and Simon
