The challenges faced to date: School of Education • Converting Primary Schools to School Direct – the expectation of employment • However • cluster model is growing – most Primary Clusters are applying for School Direct 2014-15
The challenges faced to date: School of Education • The free market – the money issue • However • Growing emphasis on ‘the moral imperative’ • Developing relationships with Teaching Schools
The challenges faced to date: School of Education • Breakdown of • Sense of collaborative work with other HEIs • However – good work with APTE continues • Sense of collaborative work with the TA (as was)
The challenges faced to date: School of Education • Sense that NCTL is working against HEIs • Possible loss of schools long established in the Partnership • However – attempts to minimise this with strategic use of core numbers
The challenges faced to date: School of Education • Embedding agreed systems re: recruitment • However - success of review meetings • Running two different models in parallel
The challenges faced to date: School of Education • Increasing the number of School Direct schools in the Partnership. How? • Partnership Development Co-ordinators • Huge investment of resource • Increase in subjects on offer
Our intention: School of Education • to remain a major ITE provider in the region • a continue to offer a distinctive , high quality product
