The Most Significant Canadian of the Post War Era The Most Significant Canadian of the Post War Era Who Are You Going To Choose?
The Task at Hand • You will be putting together either a presentation or a display board arguing why the figure you have chosen has had the greatest impact on the last 70 years of Canadian history. • You will be expected to write a brief biography on your figure, list their accomplishments, state interesting facts and explain how this makes them important to Canadian History. • This project is designed to test your historical inquiry and application skills but it also opens the door for creativity and fun. • A level four project will take this information and apply in either a presentation or visual display that actively engages the class and teacher. • Get ready to learn about the contribution of a great Canadian or Canadians and to have fun with it.
Your Instructions • Today in class we will be reviewing our options for the final summative. • Your job today is to pay attention to the presentation and pick your top five choices that you would like to do for the summative and rank them on a piece of paper that you will be handing in to me. • Remember that only one person can do each figure from Canadian history and that only three figures can be chosen from each category.
Words To The Wise • Remember that your job is to make an argument either through a presentation or through a display board arguing that this figure has had the greatest impact on Canada. • Choose wisely, don’t necessarily pick your favourite person – pick someone that will give you enough information and background to ace this project.
