Before We Begin, Remember… The vowels are: a, e, i, o, and u. ---------------------- The consonants are: b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, and z.
Plural nouns name more than one person, place, or thing (noun). --Most of the time, you simply add –s to the noun --For nouns that end in x, ch, sh, s, or z, add –es. --ex. boxboxes; churchchurches --For nouns that end in a consonant plus y, change the y to i and add –es. --ex. partyparties ex. rabbit rabbits
Two Other Rules to Remember --For nouns ending in o with a consonant before it, add –es (ex. hero heroes) --For most nouns ending in f or fe, change the f to v and add –es. (ex. dwarf dwarves)
