Course Description • This course will include an introduction to the basic concept of how computers work, using the computer keyboard, word processing, computer ethics and presentation graphics.

Course Performance Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, the student will: • Gain a basic knowledge of the personal computer in general • Describe the information needed and planning required to set up and operate a computer (Windows 7 Operating System) • Use computer terminology • Use the Internet to browse, search, print and e-mail
Course Performance Objectives (continued) • Demonstrate beginning skill level using a word processing program (Microsoft Word 2010) • Use Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 to produce a presentation • Demonstrate use of appropriate assistive technologies dependent upon individual student needs.
Course Grading Procedures • Class participation is required as this is a pass/no pass lab course. • A student who misses a class is still obligated to complete the assignment (lab hours or coursework). • Performance will be based on progress criteria specified in the SEC. (Let’s complete that now…)
