EUROPEAN COMMISSIONTransnational networks-The objectives • To pool knowledge in a specific domain at regional or sectoral level, to share experience and foster innovation in vocational training by bringing together experts or organisations specialised in a particular field. • To identify trends and skills requirements in this area and improve the anticipated benefit of vocational training initiatives • Publish the results of work undertaken by such transnational networks through the relevant channels so as to promote greater innovation and transnational co-operation in vocational training
EUROPEAN COMMISSIONTransnational networks-Implementation • Establishing a vocational training network between multiple players by bringing together public and private players • Carrying out a work programme on a given subject • Ensuring that the activities of the network are not confined to their contractual period only • The proposal should also include the provision, based on the initial results, for a widening of the network, accompanied by a plan for canvassing new potential partners
EUROPEAN COMMISSIONTransnational networks-The Partnership • Must be multi-player, i.e. involve a variety of players capable of contribution to the proposal´s objectives • Inclusion of political decision-makers will ensure the durability of the partnership • Members of existing networks wish to form new networks in complementary areas or…... to use their combined expertise in new areas
EUROPEAN COMMISSIONTransnational networks-Key points • Submission Procedure? - Procedure B • When proposal submitted? - Once a year by the Community call for proposal • Maximum duration? - Three year • Ceiling for Community funding? - 50 % of admissible expenditure, subject to a limit of 150 000 per year and per project

GEBP 2001 - retrospect analyse • Strengths A clear and precise need identified. The project is very well motivated concerning structural changes in both education and business life. Strong partnerships but more distinct connection to entrepreneurs and research organisations needed.
GEBP 2001- retrospect analyse • Weaknesses The work programme must be more concrete and distinct. Dissemination of results and outcomes must be better specified. The budget too voluminous in it´s connection to the work programme (too much on staff costs and travel)
