  2. Safety concerns when utilizing Robots: Robots have many of the same areas of concern that are recognized when using standard automation machinery. ©Emil Decker, 2009

  3. Safety concerns when utilizing Robots: Robots operate in an area known as an envelope. Hazard zones exist within this area where one might become injured by the robot or by the material it is working with. ©Emil Decker, 2009

  4. Safety concerns when utilizing Robots: Just because a robot is not moving, or moving in a certain pattern repeatedly, does not mean that it will remain in that same condition. ©Emil Decker, 2009

  5. Safety concerns when utilizing Robots: Most automation equipment remains in a fixed position, with a limited movement range and speed. Robots can be programmed to move in multiple positions, with variable speeds. ©Emil Decker, 2009

  6. Safety concerns when utilizing Robots: Robots move according to programming, or sensory inputs. If the program is incomplete, untested, or inadequate for the job, then erratic behavior may create hazardous conditions. ©Emil Decker, 2009

  7. Safety concerns when utilizing Robots: A robot's work envelope must be kept clear when programming and testing new routines. Emergency stop buttons should be installed and personnel trained in its location and use. ©Emil Decker, 2009
