Aims: • Provide all staff with basic awareness and knowledge of Domestic Violence. • Provide information about where help is available.
In the UK… • In a survey of 1300, 8-16 year old pupils, carried out by “ZeroTolerance Charitable Trust” in 2000… 1 in 2 boys and 1 in 3 girls thought it was acceptable for a woman to be hit under certain circumstances
In the UK… • In a survey of conducted by NSPCC in 2005… 1 in 5 girls have been hit by a boyfriend. One third say cheating justifies violence.
In the UK… 16% of girls surveyed by NSPCC and Sugar Magazine (average age 15), hadbeen hit by a boyfriend. 40% of the girls surveyed accepted this behaviour.
