English • Units of work (fiction, non-fiction and poetry) • Emphasis on extended writing • Regular handwriting (cursive script) • Speaking and listening • SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) • Reading
Spelling • New Curriculum focus on SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) • Follow a spelling programme • Three spelling lessons a week • Editing, dictionary work • Marking code -sp. • Not weekly lists home
Reading • Banding • Personal selection including texts from home – variety of genres (FREE FRIDAY). • Reading records (at least 3 signatures from home per week) • Guided reading • Reading with adults in school (parent helpers welcome please!!)

E-Safety in Year 3 • PROGRAMME OVERVIEW • Protect personal information. • Know what online services are age appropriate for me. • To know how to stay safe using popular online services. • Use safety features of web sites and know how to report problems. • Downloading files and games safely. • Good choices about the amount of time I spend online. • Posting positive comments online. • Choose secure passwords. • Protect personal information.
