  3. PRIMARY Colors • Red • Blue • Yellow

  4. SECONDARY Colors • Orange • Green • Purple/ Violet

  5. INTERMEDIATE/ TERTIARY • Made by combining a primary and a secondary • Red + Orange = Red-Orange • Yellow + Green = Yellow-Green • Orange + Yellow = Yellow-Orange • Blue + Green = ___?____

  6. NEUTRAL COLORS • Brown • Gray/Grey • Black • White

  7. COMPLIMENTARY Colors • Across from each other on the color wheel • Red- Green • Orange- Blue • Purple- Yellow

  8. Warm Colors Cool Colors • Anything in the range of yellow, orange, and red • Anything in the range of green, blue, and purple

  9. VALUE The natural lightness or darkness of a hue or the amount of white or black in a color. (Ex pink is a value of red. Navy is a value of blue)

  10. Color MIXING Tint Shade A Hue plus white (water) A Hue plus black

  11. INTENSITY • The purity of a hue. A hue at its highest intensity has no other color mixed with it.

  12. MONOCHROMATIC • Mono means one and chrome means color. a scheme that uses black and white and only values of one color. Pablo Picasso- Old Guitarist 

  13. ANALAGOUS • A scheme that consist of three or four adjacent colors on the color wheel. • (Ex. Yellow-green, Yellow, Yellow-orange, Orange)  Vincent Van Gogh- Sunflowers
