  5. WELCOME TO IHRF'S SITEhistory of IHRF • The IHRF is a registered NGO in HONG KONG as well as in PAKISTAN.IHRF has representatives in different countries of the world. Syed M.N.Asim and his friends formed it. • Basically IHRF is a non-profit making community base and self help bases non-governmental voluntary organization. Which is working on policy , advocacy and grassroots levels. • It was registered in Hong Kong in 2001

  6. CHARTER OF IHRF 1.Universal Declaration of Human Rights.Adopted and proclaimed by General Assembly resolution 217 A (111) of 10 December 1948.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF IHRF 1- Our aim is to act against the violation of human rights. 2- To create awareness among the people regarding their human rights which was adopted and proclaimed by the general assembly of UNO in December 10,1948. 3-Work for humanity regardless of race ,color, religion , social status ,gender ,ethnicity or nationality.

Aims and objectives for Hong Kong 4- Focus the problems (such as race discrimination) of south Asian residents of HKSAR. 5- Bridging between Chinese and non-Chinese residents of HKSAR being having an aim that, WE ARE ALL TOGATHER HONG KONG. 6- Ethnic minorities  integration in to the wider society and create the social harmony.

MEMBERSHIP OF IHRF Every adult can become a member of IHRF on condition that, 1.He/she should be a sound mind. 2.No criminal record. 3.Should be agreeing with constitution, articles, charter, aims and objectives of IHRF. 4.Should fill up the application form, any membership is subject to approval by the board of Directors of IHRF.

  10. Cancellation Of Membership • Any membership can be cancelled by • 1/ 3 majority of directors of IHRF.

  11. PAST ACTIVITIES IN HKSAREvents-- •   Peace walks* for peace in the world on March 23, 2001.

  13. During SARS outbreak all volunteers took part to distribute the Facemasks to the public. Beside this also we suggested HAB to convey this important message to the ethnic minorities in to their own language, they agreed and arranged translated material and showed in print and electronic media.

  14. *Having seminars on, educate the people about their rights. • *Seminar on importance of vote. Giving awareness to ethnic minorities on 29th June 2003 venue Pakistan Association club HK.

  15. Forum on proposed Legislation against Racial Discrimination, on19th Nov 2004. Co-Organized by Unison HK and IHRF. Big Festival* Cross cultural celebration of EID AL FITR and DEWALI, on 21st Nov 2004 at Pakistan Association Club. Co- Organized by YMCA HK and IHRF.

Co-Organizer of Multicultural friendly parade, “WE ARE HONG KONG” on 12th Dec 2004. • *Due to language barrier most of ethnic minorities facing communication problem   specially in hospital   they need some interpreters and translators, IHRF volunteers providing help to those who are in need.

As an example in the multicultural and multilingual society of Hong Kong ethnic minorities face considerable problems due to language barriers.

ACTIVITIES IN PAKISTAN • Arranged seminars rallies protests on different public issues also arranged cultural shows meeting with Govt. official  different NGO’s ,worked with “ Human Rights Cell” Govt. Of Pakistan. IHRF took declaration of weekly newspaper “Human Rights” in 1995 from Islamabad the capital city of Pakistan.

Prisoners of adyala jail • IHRF team came to know that prisoners of adyala jail Rawalpindi are facing considerable problems due to negligence of jail authorities so IHRF members arranged a jail visit by the permission of home secretary Punjab in march 1995 and found that food and water given to the prisoners of adyala jail were unhygienic and due to this many prisoners became sick.

  35. The Plight of Refugees under UNHCR • IHRF also published a booklet on refugee’s problems, in 1996.(written by syed M.N.Asim ) • IHRF also provided free legal aid to those who are in need.

  36. Lodged a writ petition in High Court • IHRF came to know that exporters rebate cases were being delayed unnecessarily for more then eight months and due to the delay exporters were facing difficulties and this was also effecting the country’s export, therefore IHRF lodged a writ petition against the concerned department by Mian Muhammad Alyas (Advocate High Court)

  37. Lodged a writ petition in high court against noise pollution. Patients in hospital disturb due to airplanes landing and taking off near by airport in Rawalpindi city of Pakistan.
