Prototype Components Storage Facility Provider CIMOM • Custom interface based on the storage vendor • Function: Get mgmt data from SF and instantiate into CIMOM • Target Provider Date: Sept 24, 1999 • Provider platform: Windows-based or Java based • Current Provider list: EMC, HDS, IBM, STK, Sun • Other Prototype contributors: Sun (Jiro), Microsoft

WBEM Server Components WBEM Server Storage Facility Provider Asset Query Engine XML/HTTP CIMOM • CIMOMs: • Windows CIMOM from Microsoft • Platforms: Win95/98+SP 3+/NT 4.0+/2000 • SDK Delivery: Was 9/1 - now TBD • Solaris CIMOM from Microsoft • Platforms: Solaris 2.6+ (Sparc or Intel Host) • SDK Delivery: Sept 9th delivery

WBEM Server Components WBEM Server Storage Facility Provider Asset Query Engine XML/HTTP CIMOM • Asset Query Engine (AQE): • Sun will send to all Providers • Target date: Sept 20, 1999 • WBEM Server Platform: • Solaris 2.6+ (Sparc/Intel host) or • Win 2000/NT 4.0+/95 or 98 with service packs • AQE is a Jiro ™ component - requires JDK 1.2

CIM Prototype Demo • Two laptops (John Tyrrell/Mike Dutch) • John’s laptop: • SRM Components (HAA and SAC) - Optional • JDK 1.2 (Optional) • Browser to support XML/XSL • Mike’s laptop: • Browser to support XML/XSL • Two telephone lines for internet connect to SNIA.org • Two laptop projectors (for combined presentation/demo)

CIM Prototype Status • CIM Providers: • EMC - testing Sun WBEM - to complete by 9-13-99 • HDS: • Waiting for fix on Microsoft WBEM • Sent static MOFs for Sun SRM Component testing • STK: Development team mtg in Boulder 9/7 week • Sun - completed dynamic provider - ready for system test • IBM - Reassignment of prototype developer

  17. CIM Prototype Issues • Microsoft: • No style sheet (XSL) developer provided yet • No XML CIMOM - waiting for NDA decision • Responsible person: Patrick Thompson • IBM: • Need to get new programmer jump-started • All Provider vendors contacted - all willing to help • Doug Shue will visit some of them week of 9/7 • Sun • Sun/CIMOM doesn’t work with composite keys • EMC to test the fix in week of 9/7
