  4. Attendance Policy Highlights***Proposed Revisions*** • General Change 1. Excuse note must be turned in within two days. • High School Proposal 1. Must not exceed 8 total absences per semester (excused or unexcused) for class credit. 2. Each HS will have a standing Attendance Committee to review data and communicate concerns to parents. 3. Students must make up time on an hour-for- hour basis. 4. Make-up time is arranged at discretion of principal. 5. Five (5) tardies/early departures = 1 class absence 6. Attendance Committee will review waivers for extenuating circumstances.

  5. Attendance Policy Highlights***Proposed Revisions*** • Middle School Proposal 1. No more than 12 absences per year. 2. More could lead to retention at discretion of principal. 3. Students can make up time as arranged by principal and file waivers for extenuating circumstances. 4. Eight (8) tardies/early departures = 1 class absence.

  6. Attendance Policy Highlights***Proposed Revisions*** • Elementary Proposal 1. Must not miss more than fifteen (15) days per school year. 2. More could lead to retention at discretion principal. 3. Parent/guardian can appeal retention decision 4. Ten (10) tardies/early dismissals = 1 absence

  7. Community Feedback • Discuss proposed attendance policy changes as a table group. • Ask clarifying questions as necessary. • Provide feedback on the sticky notes on your table. • Place sticky notes on the appropriate chart.
