  2. The Internet Many people use the internet for many different things like: It is mostly used for research but you need to know the fastest way to get what you want. There are many techniques to use.

  3. Phrase Searching • This is a technique that is good for finding: • Book Titles • Painting • Specific Wars • And other specifics • To use this, all you have to do is put the text of your search in quotations. • This helps you minimize the broad topic and eliminate what you don’t need. example: “Revolutionary War”

  4. Search Engine Math In this technique, you can do two different things. One way is to use basic math to find an answer. You can also use math symbols to enter a formula to filter out unwanted listings example 1: 27+572392 example 2: baseball -MLB

  5. Boolean Logic • This technique is also a way to search for data basis. • Use three words to help specify what you need. • And • Not • Or example: chocolate or vanilla ice cream picture

  6. Wildcard Character • This is the technique that used an asterisk. • You can use this if you have forgotten the name of something. • Fill in the letter(s) you do not know with an asterisk. example: T* Lautner
