  2. History of the Beagle breed • Size: Height 33-40cm, weight 8-14kg. Lifespan 13 years. • Identifying Features: Slightly domed skull. Large, dark eyes set well apart. Long ears with rounded tips. Colour can be black, tan and white, or any mixture of these three. Tip of the tail is white. • Character: Friendly, easy going and alert. • Pet suitability: Not suitable to town life. Good with children, can be stubborn.

History of the Labrador breed • Size: Height 54-57cm, weight 25-34kg Lifespan: 12-14 years. • Identifying Features: Short coat, hard to the touch, usually in shades of yellow, black or chocolate. • Character: Good tempered and keen to please. • Pet Suitability: Very popular pet. Reliable, adjustable and easy to train. Good with children and other pets. Loves water. Needs lots of exercise.
