Properly choosing Peer Mentors • There should be a mock interview process. • Background checks, including reputation on campus amongst students and staff. • Performance in dorms, number of AWOLS class attendance, Negative Incident Reports, and number of Positive Incident Reports.
The overall betterment of Cleveland Job Corps. • It would give individuals a better first impression of Cleveland Job Corps. • Would give Peer Mentors a chance to work on their leadership skills. • Would give students a perfect opportunity to interact amongst themselves in a positive fashion.
In Conclusion The concern is that we don’t have enough qualified Peer Mentors. • Specific- Who=SGA, What= Gaining qualified Peer Mentors, Where= Cleveland Job Corps, When= 4/14/14 4/15/14 4/21/14 4/28/14, Which= Background checks, including reputation on campus amongst students and staff, Why= It would give individuals a better first impression of Cleveland Job Corps. • Measurable- All of the members of SGA and all individuals of SGA • Attainable- Create a group of Peer Mentors who enjoy doing what they do, and can positively interact with the students. • Realistic- Collect surveys that tell how Peer Mentors are affecting the students they mentor, this will allow us to understand if they are doing the job correctly. • Timely- By May 2014
How will we know we have accomplished our goal? • Interview process • Surveys • Consistency • Having a positive relationship between SGA and the student body • Completing the goals set in a timely manner.
