Task 6.1. HACCP Systems BRQs • Terms of reference • “Questionnaires should be completed for 3 farms / premises by each DGL. The completed questionnaires will be used by KULeuven to select 1 company or farm for each DGL, and then complete the mission” • Comments • Questionnaire quotas not completed by each country and in some cases not completed in time. • Where submitted, some were not fully answered. Task 6.1.HACCP Systems FFMs - MissionPlan • Terms of reference • “The audit will be linked to sampling, so that the sampling points are realistic to the production situation.” • “Sampling of sites will take place only after audit visits are performed.” • Comments: • Submissions still being made by some participating countries that missions are not feasible and that sampling be carried out without auditing contrary to the above agreements. VITAL 3th Annual Consortium MeetingNVRI, Pulawy, Poland
Task 6.1. HACCP Systems FFMs - MissionPlan • Terms of reference • “The data-gathering laboratory will determine the time when the site should be sampled, then contact the VITAL FFM Team giving them at least 1 week notice.” • Comments • Sampling scheme proposals received from most sampling laboratories. However, it is difficult to design an audit plan without all of the completed questionnaires (full quota) and without receiving the names and locations of the three proposed businesses. • Sampling labs can not complete schedules without taking into account the seasonal aspects of the audit plan. Thus, it may be necessary for the sampling schedule to adjust to the actual audit plan VITAL 3th Annual Consortium MeetingNVRI, Pulawy, Poland
Task 6.1. HACCP Systems FFMs - MissionPlan • Terms of reference • “The FFM Team willvisit the site, identify the points to besampled, and samples willbe taken bymembers of the data-gatheringlaboratory” • Comments • Sampling schedules must be flexible to incorporate ad hoc samples resulting from areas of concern identified by auditors during actual audit • This may not pose an area of conflict as sampling points identified during the course of the audit may be the same as those already predetermined as predicted. VITAL 3th Annual Consortium MeetingNVRI, Pulawy, Poland
Task 6.1. HACCP Systems FFMs - MissionPlan • Comments • The timing of step 6 has a direct impact on the progress of WP 5 and WP 7 and is finally linked to the final outputs of VITAL • Tardiness in completion of questionnaires and selection of the proposed businesses limits the opportunity of forward planning in order to take advantage of reduction in travel costs and the organisation of auditors own agendas • Completion of outstanding processing and point-of-sale FFMs heavily impacts on the 2010 agenda, i.e.: • Retail FFMs • Compilation of all reports • Linkage of samples results and areas of concern • Integration of WP 5, 6 & 7. • …….
