What is Jabber? A software application for your computer that integrates with your phones and lets you access presence, instant messaging (IM), voice, video, voicemail, desktop sharing and conferencing.
The hub window contains: Menu bar to access functions Hub Window Status message field Search or dial bar Contact lists Call history, voicemail, and meetings tabs Phone controls
Incoming Calls When you receive an incoming call, you can answer the call or decline the call from your computer.
Call windows integrate with chat windows and include: Call Window Call controls A pop out button that lets you separate chat and call windows
Call controls let you do the following: Call Controls End calls Mute your audio Access the following additional controls: – Hold calls – Transfer calls – Merge calls – Create conference calls Go full screen Toggle self-view Open a keypad to enter digits
Phone controls let you select from available phones and set up call forwarding. • Use my phone for calls will be the default. • Use my computer for calls is for those with microphones and/or webcams. • Forward calls to allows you to set up forwarding. Phone Controls
You can set up to three custom status messages for each availability state. Insert your cursor in the status message field and enter your new status message. Select Delete custom statuses to remove all your custom status messages. Custom Status Messages
Call History Tab The call history tab shows a list of recent and missed calls. Hover your cursor over the call back button to return a missed call. Right-click items in your call history list to delete them.
Notifications display on the hub window when you miss calls or receive new voice messages. Voicemail Tab
The voicemail tab lets you access, play, and manage your voice messages. Right-click voice messages to delete or call back. Voicemail Tab
Chat Window To open a chat window just right-click on a contact’s name and select chat or you can double click on a contact’s name.
Chat Window Chat windows contain: Contact picture and availability state The search or call bar Tabs for multiple chats Chat controls
Chat Controls Chat controls perform the following actions: Adjust the font size and color Take screen captures Transfer files Send emoticons Add participants to create group chats
