Problem The common problem today is that with the increase in the cost of everything, the main effected area is transport. What we need is a cheap and simple way of getting around, so the ideal thing is a bike. But that creates another problem…..
Stability and Carrying Capacity Carrying of items The carrying of items is always a problem as there are few locations in which things can be carried. The addition of this product could add extra storage above the new rear axle • Causes • Lumps and dips in road • Going up and down kerbs • Solved with the use of a wider track Stability
Design Folder Brief The final design chosen will have removable wheels, which allows the product to be disassembled and easily stored. The chain, which will be provided in replacement with the original, Will be fitted with quick release links to aid removal. • Initial designs, 3 designs to which one is picked as a final design to further develop. • Research, various items of research including materials, fixtures and finishes • Questionnaire, a questionnaire to find out what members of the public would like the final project to be like.
Specification Aesthetics, the design of the product must be done in a way in which the users don't feel shown up by the use of this product in everyday use. Environment, this product is easily recyclable as all its parts can be broken down to component parts and reused. Economics, this product has been designed to be significantly cheaper than existing products. This product should be under £100 sale price while also creating a suitable profit. Material, this product should be made of suitable materials to ensure that the weight rating of the original host bike is not affected. Size, the product should be small enough to not affect the size of the bike too much making it awkward to use. Also when disassembled should be small enough to store on a shelf or in the back of a car. Ease of use, this product should assist users in multiple ways. Stability, should increase the stability of the bike. Maintenance, should have low maintenance to ease using of the product. Storage, should be easily removable to all conversion back to original bike format. Functionality, should be able to perform a variety of tasks using different attachments.

Market With this project the market is very varied. This is because this product can be produced in various sizes to fit from anything to children's bikes to full-size adult bikes. The prototype produced is aimed for the adult market.
Final design This design has been chosen as it fulfils the specification set down and covers all part of the brief.
Diary This diary has been produced to detail the steps taken in the production from designing with the initial ideas, through the first presentation, and will end here with this final presentation of the finished product.
Implementation to industry I have emailed Ermine Engineering Company Ltd and Lincoln precision engineering LTD enquiring about the cost of producing the parts of a mass scale. At this time I have received no reply. I have also contacted the retail chain Halfords to investigate a possible selling price for this product. At this time I have also received no reply.
