Unit Summary • Students will be learning different aspects about plants. They will be learning the differences between vascular and non vascular plants. They will also be learning about the plant life cycle and parts of a plant. Groups of students will be assigned a plant for them to research on the internet. The group will have to present their plant to the class when they have learned everything about the plant. The students will also need to find out where their plant could survive around the world. In their groups students will have different roles to make sure everyone is participating. Their will be leader, a recorder, a speaker, and a reader. Throughout the group work the students will switch roles, so everyone can experience everything.
Curriculum-Framing Questions • Essential Question: 1.) Why are life cycles important in the world? • Unit Question: 2.) What are some plant life cycles? • Concept Questions: 3.) How do seeds germinate? 4.) What are the stages in the life cycle of flowering plants? 5.) How do plants reproduce from spores?

What I hope the students learn from this unit I hope the students will learn: • The differences between vascular and non vascular plants. I also hope they will be able to provide examples of both types of plants. • All about plant life cycles. • The different parts of a plants. • How to research their plant on the internet. • What information is important when researching the web. • How to present their plant.
