Introduction • This update presents the latest available exam results for the 2008 academic year to date • In presenting and interpreting these results, it is important to understand the status and context of this in relation to the annual – and changing – examination cycle

Conclusion • Update of 2008 provisional exam results to date, ie including 2008 May/June and November sittings • Focus on exam pass rates at this stage (final Course Success Rates uniformly lower) • Key findings: • 2008 ESR up 5,44% on 2007 and 3,59% on 2005 • All Colleges showed increases, with CHS still dominant (79,61% ESR in 2008) • All race groups showed increases, with whites still dominant (75,69% ESR in 2008) • Both gender groups showed increases with women still dominant (65,97% vs 61,51% ESR in 2008) • Further updates, verification and fuller analyses will follow • Detailed reports and this presentation available on the Institutional Information & Analysis Portal shortly
