We don’t commission direct health and social services. • We dohave a key role in • improving health outcomes • reducing health inequalities for communities and individuals • focus on health protection, health improvement and health promotion. • We do this through • Provision of services • Working in partnership How is North Norfolk Addressing Health and Wellbeing Priorities?
NNDC Health Improvement Strategy • Approved in 2010 with cross-party support • Three priorities: • Localism of health delivery by all relevant stakeholders • Prevention of ill health and promotion of healthy lifestyles • Maintaining activity, independence and support for older people. • Health Improvement Forum – driving partnership working at operational service level
Liaison with Emerging Groups • Health and Wellbeing Board • Representation • Priorities flawed? • North Norfolk CCG • Representation • Priorities aligned • Influencing them, shaping our services • Housing, leisure etc
Supporting the Contribution of the Voluntary and Community Sector 1 Direct grant support - over £100,000 pa • Citizens Advice Bureau, Community Transport. Service Level Agreement - Voluntary Norfolk • To provide direct advice and support for the sector in North Norfolk General support and joint working • North Norfolk Older People’s Forum, Workout Project Commissioning – delivery of services on behalf of NNDC • Age UK North Norfolk, The Benjamin Foundation Support to establish sustainable community groups • Six community gyms, Fit Together walking
Supporting the Contribution of the Voluntary and Community Sector 2 North Norfolk Big Society Fund Projects which will improve communities’: • social wellbeing • economic wellbeing • volunteering £400,000 awarded to 47 community projects in 2012/13 2013/14 fund increased to £450,000 • Grant Fund of £225,000 maximum grant of £15,000 • Enabling Fund of £225,00 to support wider initiatives developed in partnership with local communities.
