RNIB – “REACT” Wayfinder System • Auditory “signpost” system • Designed for visually impaired people • Other applications • disabled people with memory impairment • dual sensory impairment • tourist information/ multiple languages • emergency evacuation/ real time info • technology improving - key “fobs”/ mobile phones/ link to HDU

  5. Disability Equality Scheme – Easy Read Version • Press notice next week • Distributed in August • To all existing contacts • CAB/ Age Concern/ Padstone • BARN/ North Worcs. SPIN/ BDAG • Libraries in Bromsgrove District • Customer Service Centre/ Dolphin/ Haybridge/ Ryland Centres • Spadesbourne Suite/ Artrix/ Amphlett Hall • MARC/ Newsong Church/ all Schools

  6. Gender Equality Working Group • Not met since June! • Will re-convene in October • Part way through meetings with service managers and partners • Target to re-publish by end of year • Launch event to co-incide with International Women’s Day March 2008

  7. Equality Impact Assessments • Essential part of business planning for services • Supports measurement against the Local Government Equality Standard • Half day training session for Forum members • Daytime/ evening?

  8. Wendron Day Centre • Spoke to Centre Co-ordinator • Rationalising and updating facilities across the County • Includes Wendron, Padstone and Blackmore House • No specifically plans to close • FS to speak to Maria Hicks
