    4. Diet The dolphin eats, squid, fish, flying fish, sharks, and shrimp. They use their sonar to get their prey. Dolphins whack their prey with their tail which shocks the fish long enough for the dolphin to catch them. They turn the fish around and swallow it head first.

    5. Behaviors The dolphin feels comfortable around other animals because they share the sea. Dolphins swim, play and eat during the day. They do not hibernate, but they will migrate to a warmer water.

    6. Physical Features They are blue - ish gray because it helps them camouflage to the color of the sea. Male dolphins are up to 13 feet long and weigh 1,400 pounds. Females are smaller. They have smooth skin, a blow hole, paddle shaped flippers, and a fin on their back to help them adapt to their habitat. They are warm blooded so their body temperature always stays the same.

    7. Interesting Facts They have been clocked swimming at 30 miles per hour. They learn human games very quickly and are easily trainable. They use their blow hole to communicate with each other. Humans hunt dolphins for their meat and their oil. About 50 million years ago the dolphins ancestors lived on land!
