What We Do TAS: • Protects taxpayers’ rights by ensuring all taxpayers are treated fairly, and that they know and understand their rights under the TBOR • Helps taxpayers where a system or procedure has either failed to operate as intended or efforts have failed to resolve the problem or dispute within the IRS. • LITC: How should Legal Aid advocates proceed?

Filing Season Review For most taxpayers, the 2019 filing season went smoothly. • Filing statistics are comparable to the prior year, • Service levels declined for taxpayers who required assistance Concerns: Depersonalization can lead to bad compliance IRS needs to increase taxpayer service funding
