  2. Why is the verb “ir” special? • It means “to go”. • It is an irregular verb in all forms. • You must use “a” (means to) with the verb. • If the place is masculine singular then, a + el = al

  3. Forms of “ir” Yo Tú Él Ella Usted Nosotros Vosotros Ellos Ellas Ustedes

  4. I am not going home. Yo no voy a la casa.

  5. You are going to the library. Tú vas a la biblioteca.

  6. My parents are going to the office. Mis padres van a la oficina.

  7. We are going to the apartment. Nosotros vamos al apartamento.

  8. Where are you going? • To say “where” use the question word: Adónde • To ask where someone is going use: ¿Adónde + ? form of ir subject pronoun • To answer the question use: + + a + subject pronounform of ir place • Remember a + el al

  9. Marcos is going to the gym. You all are going to the library. We are not going to class. The class is going to the auditorium. I am going home. Marcos va al gimnasio. Ustedes van a la biblioteca. Nosotros no vamos a la clase. La clase va al auditorio. Yo voy a la casa. Let’s Practice!
