Mission To support “inquiry and innovation” by acting as leaders and fostering opportunities for staff to contribute to an affirming, inclusive environment that fully engages staff, faculty, students and administration in University enrichment.
What is Staff Senate? • A body of personnel nominated and elected by constituent employees distinguished by districts: • Administrative Managerial , Clerical /Secretarial, Professional, Technical Paraprofessional/Skilled Craft/Service and Maintenance • Academic Affairs, Business Affairs, Student Affairs, Information Technology, University Advancement and Office of the President • Meets on a monthly basis to discuss issues facing the staff & campus
What do senators do? • Senators represent YOU! • Take input from staff on current issues • Stay in-tune to campus issues • Update staff on advancement of UTPA • Take issues to the appropriate committee/department
What do senators do? Senators participate in university committees: • UT-System Employee Advisory Council • Cost of Education Committee • Parking & Traffic Committee • Wellness Center Advisory Committee • Food Advisory Committee • Child Development Advisory Committee • Strategic Planning & Assessment Committee
