  2. The tributaries • The river Severn has many tributaries including : the Vyrnwy, the Tern, the Worfe and the Stour.

  3. The Severn bridges. • The original severn bridge opened in 1966 but 30 years later a second crossing was opened which leads directly to Newport

  4. Iron bridge • Abraham Darby’s famous iron bridge over the river Severn was opened in 1779 and amazingly this famous bridge is still standing!!!!!!!!!

  5. Source • The river starts in the Cambrian mountains. The river Severn starts as a boggy marsh in Bryn Class

  6. Valleys • During the ice age many glaciers (rivers of ice and rock) carved out a U shaped valley. Rivers however make a V shaped valley.

  7. Flood plain • The flood plain is the patch of land around the rivers banks and if the river bursts its banks the flood plain gets turned into a marsh Tewkesbury

  9. Life on the River Severn • The river Severn is bursting with life and in the spring the River Severn is home to millions of geese and swans

  10. Fish • The River Severn is home to thousands of fish including,trout, bream,salmon and many more.

  11. The longest river • The River Severn is the longest river in the U.K! At 356 kilometres long it practically dwarfs the Plym and the Avon

  12. Boats • The River Severnis used by millions of boats each year these boats including,pleasure boats,barges,narrow boats and canoes
