The Source • The source of the river is normally, a puddle of water high up in the mountains in Wales. • A source is the start of a river. • When a river starts it has to go through twelve stages to get to the sea
Tributaries • A tributary is a small stream that leads down to the main river. • A tributary also normally starts as a puddle caused by rain. • A tributary caries rocks and stones with it sometimes, they end up as driftwood in the sea.
Meanders • A meander (pronounced me and er) is the bend of a river. • Flood plains are the land next to the meander • They normally get floods about every month.
The Mouth • The mouth Is the part that leads into the sea • The mouth of the river Severn is 200m wide. • A mouth is a CRUCIAL part of a river. • The mouth of the river Severn is in the Bristol Channel.
