Objections to Annexation • Area is not compact • Annexation of this area will result in the creation of a “pocket” • The proposed annexation area is “small” and “isolated” area as compared to the abutting municipal property Sections 171.043 (1), and 171.044, FS
Objections to Annexation • Area is not contiguous • The annexation area is only accessible by utilizing Clapp Simms Duda Road (a local County road) • There is no direct connection between the proposed annexation area and the City boundaries • The only way to access the annexation area from Narcoossee Road is through Clapp Simms Duda Road lying within unincorporated area Sections 171.043 (1), and 171.044, FS
Objections to Annexation • The ~210.64 acre annexation area is not developed for urban purposes • The area has approximately 17 residents (2010 Census) • The area has a Rural future land use designation (1 du/10 acres) in the County’s 2010-2030 Comprehensive Plan • A-2 (farmland rural) County Zoning for area • The area has not been subdivided, and is served by wells, septic tanks, and a County local road intended for very low traffic volume Section 171.043 (2), FS
