  3. IETC Presentation Proposal~ iBooks Author provides the scaffolding needed so that special needs students can successfully engage in, and master, on grade-level curriculum. Join us as we share interactive, engaging units of study, presented in ePub format, that address student learning styles, higher-level questioning, and the Common Core State Standards.

  4. iBooks Author~ • Application is available in the Mac App Store • Works hand-in-hand with iBooks app on the iPads • Format, including the Inspector, is similar to Pages, which the students currently use • Allows students to "preview" books as they are "writing"

  5. Backward Planning~ Needed to align to: Content area Learning targets ISTE student standards District Internet Safety guidelines Special considerations: Varied ability levels Learning styles IEP adherence Time constraints

  6. "5 Themes of Geography" iBooks Project~ Each iBook contains the following information specific to a given country: • Location • Place • Movement • Human/Environment Interaction • Regions

  11. Project Reflection * Start with a small project. * Jigsaw the activity by having each student complete one chapter and then putting them together as a book. *Plan on iBooks Author or iBooks needing an update at some point during the project, and updates taking a LONG time.:-)
