IUF • What is IUF? • The International Union of Food ,Agriculture ,Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Association (IUF) is an international federation of trade unions representing workers in : • Agriculture and plantations • The processing and manufacture of food and beverages Hotels ,restaurants, tourism and catering services • All stages of tobacco, processing

  3. The IUF ‘s guiding principle To implement through: • Building solidarity at every stage of the food chain • Global action to defend human, democratic and trade union rights • International union organizing within transnational companies (TNCs)

  4. The role of IUF • Delivering education on globalization, policy and background information for affiliated unions to lobby with the government. • Build up a Framework Agreement with transnational companies • Strengthen existing affiliated unions by education • Building company networks in regional or global level

  5. Strategy of IUF • Recognition (recognized by TNC’s) • Fundamental right • Space give more space to organize

  6. Share experiences and discussion • Group Work and Report with comments • Examination • Review the ILO Supervisory Mechanism • Explanation on work-plan • Evaluation on weekly schedule
