Data Link Recording • A new, updated draft has been submitted to JAA for consideration. Main difference: retrofit explicitly not required • Draft letter to ICAO asking for review of Annex 6 also submitted to JAA for review and eventual sending to ICAO • Not a full RIA • Arguments considered sufficient to trigger ICAO action • More information on impact can be developed to feed review process • Recommended next steps • Agree and publish new guidance as soon as possible • Trigger ICAO review
NPA 20-11 Operational Approval Text • New draft for the operational approval part has been submitted to JAA for review and discussion • EUROCONTROL rep to ad-hoc WG appointed • Rest of the NPA text (both regulatory and explanatory part) reviewed by EUROCONTROL RU and comments/suggestions will be communicated to JAA and EASA • AEA has reconfirmed airline need for the earliest possible availability of official guidance on data link use and operational approval • Proposed next steps: • WG to agree new text ASAP • Guidance to be published ASAP
