Even after in jail, at first, he continued to cuss at whites and because of his attitude he was called Satan.
When Malcolm was incarcerated he was a hoodlum who had lots of street smarts, who was very intelligent, charismatic, and a man who came from a proud family.
In jail he came under the influence of Elijah Muhammad after he was introduced to him by his brother Reginald who told indicated to him that he could get him out of jail.
It was a member of the Nation of Islam that Malcolm gained the self respect as a human being that he had not experienced before and certainly was entitled to. Self Education
