  2. Statements of Death 汉语: 死亡 English: Death 日本語: 死(し) Ελληνικά: Θάνατος Русский: Смерть 한국어: 죽음 ……

  3. Freedom or Death? The topic referred in ancient Greek, is also retrospected in modern ages. Figure from Moira( <運命> の第六地平線), Sound Horizon represents.

  4. Riddle of the Sphinx At 431 B.C, Sophocles, one of the most celebrated tragedy writers, wrote his most representative masterpiece Oedipus, in which there was a famous myth Riddle of the Sphinx. Figure from baidu.com.

  5. Inspirations Enlightenment on this riddle teaches us that life is not a static course, but gradually changing from alive to dead. And the most important, however, death doesn’t dissociate from life, yet it is an inalienable entity of one’s life. Meanwhile, Oedipus solved the riddle under the threaten to death however. It explains that why people in peace would succumb to inertia, and only in life danger they could acquaint themselves.

  6. Ancient Greeks Attitudes to Death They treated death as a natural and spontaneousthing. They argued about whether death is the end of life or the very start of life; whether spirit can be obliterated or not. Amazed

  7. Socrates( Σωκράτης ) Socrates is the FIRST one in the history of Western Philosophy to assess the meaning or value of life associated with the individual and the society. He correlated the issue of life and death with ethics and proposed to be heroic towards death. Socrates Figure from baidu.com.

  8. For the fear of death is indeed the pretence of wisdom, and not real wisdom, being a pretence of knowing the unknown; and no one knows whether death, which men in their fear apprehend to be the greatest evil, may not be the greatest good. Is not this ignorance of a disgraceful sort, the ignorance which is the conceit that a man knows what he does not know?

  9. And the true philosophers are always occupied in the practice of dying…And if this be true, he would be very absurd, as I was saying, if he were afraid of death. -------Phaedo

  10. Heraclitus( Ἡράκλειτος ) Heraclitus is the FIRST one who abandoned the preternatural reason of death. He dialectically handled the problem of death. ‘As a single, unified thing there exists in us both life and death, waking and sleeping, youth and old age, because the former things having changed are now the latter, and when those latter things change, they become the former.’ Heraclitus Figure from wikipedia.org.
