Secretary • Kevin Barham • Responsible for the minutes of the board and executive committee • Serves on the executive committee • Ensures the minutes are kept on file with the alumni office
Treasurer • Lida Coleman • Chairs finance committee • Arranges annual audit • Serves on executive committee • Reports to the board at each meeting • Reports to the executive committee at each meeting
Executive Director • Mary Landers • Elected biennially in odd numbered years • Helps develop agenda for board meetings • Prepares and presents quarterly Executive Director’s report to board • Ex-Officio member of all committees • Helps develop and execute board’s vision and strategic plan • Supervises Alumni Engagement staff, which includes members of both alumni relations and annual giving
Past President’s Cabinet • Consists of all Association Past Presidents • Meets quarterly in conjunction with board meetings • Provides advice and counsel to the Chair and the President
Funding • Alumni Association Endowment generates the bulk of our budget • Alumni Association Fund non-restricted discretionary fund • Chancellor’s Support • Advancement Support • Various restricted endowed funds Bell Parrish Byrd
Amendments • Board approval is required to amend policy and procedures which govern day to day operation of the Alumni Association • Full membership approval is required to amend the bylaws, where the work of our association is done

Alumni Societies • Alumni societies are built around a group of UNCG alumni who share a central purpose, background or activity that is not limited to a geographic proximity. • Alumni societies are based on affiliations such as occupation, major, scholarship, ethnicity or other activities to network, socialize and mentor current students.

G.O.L.D. • GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) recognize alumni who graduated within the past 10 years. • To help lead these efforts, the GOLD Alumni Council has been in existence since fall 2014. • There are 15 members on the council, representing diverse demographics within the decade.
Vanguard • The Vanguard recognizes alumni who have celebrated their 50th reunion. • The Vanguard recently reorganized their focus by taking university programs “on the road.” • These efforts help engage this demographic in areas with large concentrations of graduates.
Alumni Networks • Triad • Triangle • Charlotte • Atlanta • Washington, D.C. • New York
AlumniNetworks • Alumni networks connect alumni to one another based on geographic location. • Networks offer a variety of programming that includes cultural, academic, athletic and recreational activities. • Each network has its own volunteer leadership. • Networks receive monetary support from the Alumni Association for programming.
Affiliate Alumni Association • Some UNCG schools, colleges and departments maintain an alumni association dedicated to their particular area of interest. • Bryan School of Business and Economics • School of Nursing • School of Health and Human Sciences • School of Education • Athletics • These affiliates will have a representative serve as an ex-officio member of our board.
Alliance Partners • UNCG Alumni Association Alliance Partners are members of the business community which the Alumni Association maintains a partnership. Partners may provide a monetary or in kind contribution to the Alumni Association. • Commerce Bank; Collegiate Insurance Resources; Diploma Display; Go Next Travel; Liberty Mutual; Amazon Smile; NCDMV for Spartan License Plates

Executive Committee • Can be thought of as the cabinet for our board. • Board Chair is Executive Committee Chair • All officers are members: President, President-Elect, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer. • Three additional directors may serve on the committee.
Executive Committee • Executive director is ex-officio without vote • Administers affairs of board between our quarterly meetings
Executive Committee • Completes annual evaluation of our Executive Director • Responsible for preparation and updating of bylaws and policies and procedures • Conducts a review of bylaws and policies and procedures as necessary but at least every five years
Executive Committee • Makes recommendation to the Board as to the appointment of the executive director • Appoints ex-officio members of the Board of Directors as needed • Determines if items need to be presented to directors between regularly scheduled meetings
