Background of UoN Alumni Association • The University of Nairobi Council repealed XXVIII of the statute on convocation thus giving birth to Alumni Association which was launched in February 5, 2005 to play the following roles: Alumni Relations University Advancement Students Mentorship Strategic Partnerships Industry Linkages & Fundraising University of Nairobi has the highest number of Alumni -143,560in Kenya, East and Central Africa.

Alumni Chapters Launched Since 2005 The Alumni Association has launched six (6) chapters so far, the latest one being the Agriculture Chapter. The agenda of Alumni Association is to create an alumni chapter for each discipline. Kenya Science Campus (New Alumni Office) This is our ‘transition office’ as we plan to build our state-of-art Alumni Centre at Arboretum Drive next to Chiromo Campus Note: The Main Campus Office, Admin Wing Room 107 still remains operational due to proximity and accessibility
ALUMNI CENTRE The Alumni Center is estimated to cost Kshs 900 millions (US$ 11.2 million) according to the draft design and will take 2-3 years to complete(2013 to 2015). The University of Nairobi Council has donated 2 acre land as their contribution to the Alumni Centre project. The project will be funded by internal sources such as the alumni contributions, outsourced funds from well wishers, friends, corporates, donors and collaborators. We welcome our alumni, corporates and donors to join hands with us as we deliver this US$ 11.2 million World Class Alumni Centre. The Association has set aside Kshs 41 million (US$ 480,000) towards the construction of the Alumni Center.
