  6. history • 2006, BellSouth Foundation issued an RFP to • members of the Superintendents Leadership Network • The RFP specified district collaboration on specific • common need • Districts coordinate with the state-led virtual school • Create a program for underserved students • support success in the 21st century.

  7. objectives • Increase the number of underserved students passing the GHSGT in the areas of science and social studies • Insure that students are thoroughly versed in test taking skills • Increase the graduation rate among minority, at-risk, and special needs students • Develop a program that can be adopted statewide for the benefit of all Georgia students.

  8. Key components • Cooperation among districts with complementary strengths • On –line, interactive, easy access for students, randomly generated test from large bank of questions, instruction cards • Low cost hosting • Teacher access to the site to enable teachers to monitor use • Identification of areas where students experienced difficulty • Created by highly experienced, successful teachers • 750 students were be selected for participation
