  4. commute v.  To travel back and forth regularly. My aunt and uncle commute from Gilroy to Sunnyvale every day. 
  5. hover v.  To remain close by. Helicopters hovered above the freeways so reporters could check the traffic conditions.
  6. interfering adj.  Intruding in the business of other people; meddling. Kara did not ask why her brother was crying, because she didn't want to seem to be interfering. 
  7. permitted adj.  Allowed. Swimming is permitted from sunrise to sunset at Howe's Beach. 
  8. subtle adj.  Not obvious; hard to detect. The waiter's gesture was so subtle that none of the diners noticed it. 
  9. volunteers n.  A person who freely offers to do something. Our clubhouse was built by volunteers.
