Component 3a: NCU’s goals for student learning outcomes are clearly stated for each educational program and make effective assessment possible. Three organizational levels: • The University • Academic and Co Curricular Programs • Specific Courses within each program

Academic and Co Curricular Programs • Using the seven strands, each academic program created their end sought statements - printed in the catalog • PSAS - NCU averages fall within the U.S. norms. • Scholarly excellence • Quality of teaching • Program procedures • Internship/Fieldwork/Clinical Experience
Co Curricular Programs New Plan Implemented in 2000 • Eleven Objectives • Character Development takes precedence • Graduation rate increased significantly - 20% to 45.29% • Noel-Levitz - Student Satisfaction Inventory Scales of student centeredness, concern for individuals, and campus life all slightly increased from 2000 to 2004
Departmental goals are assessed in a variety of ways that are appropriate to the departmental vision statement. Course Assessments measure whether or not course objectives are met. Concerns: No single cohesive vision for spiritual, cognitive, and affective development. Not every department has addressed the issue of how these goals are addressed/assessed within the program. Concerns: • Limited resources for teaching technology • No ongoing opportunities for professional development for either new or seasoned faculty members. • Faculty Development funds increased to $400. (too little - too late) • Limited Departmental Budgets
PSAS Alumni Report Our averages are within the Nation’s norms. New academic facilities. Reconstruction of the Pastoral Ministries Major NCU 2002 - 2003 Graduates Survey Over 50% stated the Chapel was a significant part of their educational experience. Woven Component 3c: NCU creates effective learning environments:
SSI Results show a slight increase in student satisfaction between 2000 and 2004 - except in the area of safety and security - slight decrease. CYL Co Curricular programs addressing commuter needs Student Development programming see an increase in participation in the Antioch Student Lead Committee. Demographic evidence of an increase in student population of students of color. (11% currently)
