what’s ahead for d-phi-e we are planning many great things: putting new gravel in the parking lot getting a code lock for the front door painting several rooms/areas of the house fixing the ceiling where the small bathroom toilet leaked fixing the dryer because it leaves holes in clothes fixing the oven because it takes 45 minutes to preheat repainting the bathroom with waterproof paint other small projects remodeling our kitchen
but we need your help! as you know, the sorority functions on dues, fundraising events and alumnae donations with only 14 members, our dues are $550 per semester for in-house girls and $660 for out-of-house girls already we are planning on doing fundraisers to help raise the money we need but we are coming to you first and hoping that your experience in d-phi-e encourages you to give back so that other girls can experience the same things you did
our light fixtures need to be replaced there are chips and cracks in the paint on several of the house’s the ceilings and walls
the shoeroom and pink bathroom floors have noticeable cracks in them
the fan in the kitchen is covered up and unusable the cupboards in the pantry and in the kitchen are falling off the walls there is paint on the tiles & holes and chips in the kitchen trim
there are chips in countertops, missing trim, pieces of the floor missing and a hole in one of the back stairs
hole in the ceiling there is water damage from the leaking toilet and a hole where the ceiling rotted away in the foyer
our kitchen cupboard doors don’t close, there are dents in the walls, and paint chips & cracks in several of the cupboards
the pink bathroom door frame has lead paint peeling off, and noticeably missing paint the foyer windowsill has a watermark
a cupboard door is missing in the kitchen, there is a hole in the wall, more large paint chips, and the pantry cupboard doors barely open
the wood under the sink is rotting and molding the sink is falling through the countertop this is a health hazard
what we’re already doing we have already approved spending money from our building fund on new gravel for the parking lot, which we will spread ourselves estimated cost: $217.70 we have also approved fixing the hole in the ceiling in the foyer estimated cost: $500.00 we have also approved spending the money to buy an antique-looking code lock to match our front door; it will be installed for free estimated cost: $150.00

notes about the kitchen the wall between the kitchen and the pantry will be knocked out to add room we are looking at getting an island for the kitchen, but if we cannot do so, we will at least have a table for girls to eat at we would like to get an industrial refrigerator if money allows, this will let us remove the fridges from the foyer we want this kitchen to last several years, so we are attempting to achieve a very high quality while keeping the renovation at a reasonable cost the contractor is doing a full reassessment of the kitchen tomorrow, and that estimate will be sent to you Wednesday (Oct. 15th) evening
we have already received some donations from alumnae, with many of the checks made for over $100 we are not asking for the $112 that we estimated we would need from every alumnae to raise $35,000 we are only asking for what you feel comfortable giving, because every little bit helps hopefully, with your help, we can continue to recruit amazing girls and continue to be an influential sorority on the Michigan Tech campus
