  6. SUSY contributions to CEDMs • CP violating off-diagonal elements in squark mass matrices induce CEDMs: CEDMs are enhanced by heavier quark masses due to chirality flip nature Stringent constraints on products of LL and RR mixings: Mitsuru Kakizaki

  7. 3. 8. New CEDM in SUSY SU(5) GUT with right-handed neutrinos Strange quark CEDM Down quark CEDM Deutron EDM (Future) Deutron EDM (Future) Right-handed tau neutrino mass • Maximal CP phase, • Null result of neutron EDM experiments already constrains mass of right-handed tau neutrino: • Future EDM experiment is sensitive to small region Mitsuru Kakizaki

  9. Hadronic EDM vs other observables • LL mixings are inevitably arise due to top Yukawa coupling and CKM mixings Hadronic EDM experiments severely constrain CP asym. in from RR sdown mixing is suppressed [Hisano,Shimizu(2003,2004)] • SU(5) GUT relation: [Hisano,Shimizu(2003); Ciuchini,Masiero,Silvestrini,Vempati,Vives(2003)] • Branching ratios for LFV tau decays: • Muon EDM: • c.f. Current upper bounds: Mitsuru Kakizaki

  10. 4. Hadronic EDM constraints on orbifold GUTs • Boundary conditions in extra dimension GUT, SUSY [Hall,Nomura, PRD66,075004(2002)] SM brane Spacetime: SU(5) brane SU(5) bulk Gauge multiplets Gauge multipletHiggs mutiplets Higgs doublets in MSSM • Realization of light Higgs doublets and heavy Higgs triplets • Gauge coupling unification • Suppression of proton decay • Fermion mass hierarchy via volume suppression • Unification of bottom and tau mass • Soft SUSY terms only for bulk fields FCNC suppression Mitsuru Kakizaki

  11. Sfermion mixings in orbifold GUT • Bulk fields are responsible for fermion mass hierarchy and SUSY parameters: Zero modes of Zero modes of Sfermion flavor mixings arise at tree level for 10-plets: Dangerous up quark CEDM and LFV from RR slepton mixings • c.f. 13. 5. Summary • EDMs depend on flavor violating mass parameters via internal lines • We can probe SUSY GUT models by investigating correlations between hadronic EDMs and other obervables • SU(5) SUSY GUTs with right-handed neutrinos: • Orbifold GUTs: Marginal CEDM of up quark is induced as well as LFV decays from RR slepton mixings Mitsuru Kakizaki

  15. High energy SUSY breaking scenarios • Existanse of large top Yukawa coupling and CKM matrix Sdown LL mixings inevitably arise due to RG effects: EDM experiments constrain sdown RR mixings practically: c.f. Severe constraints on CP violating 1-3 and 2-3 mixings in sdown RR sector Mitsuru Kakizaki

  16. Supersymmetric standard modeland SUSY flavor problem Fermion boson • Supersymmetry (SUSY): e.g. Quark Squark Hierarchy problem is solved Gaugino Gauge boson • Superparticles are not discovered SUSY must be broken (Soft) SUSY breaking terms are necessary e.g. Soft sfermion mass terms: Generation • Arbitrary sfermion masses and mixings would induce unacceptably large FCNC processes (SUSY flavor problem) Severe constraints: e.g. Mitsuru Kakizaki
