Not Just “One More Thing” To Do • Building on what you already have in place • Work smarter not harder (condense committees) • Look at your initiatives and consolidate where appropriate • Brings a unifying focus to individual efforts
Our Guiding Force • Derived from the county code of conduct • In every classroom, hallway, cafeteria, gymnasium, auditorium • Reinforced by staff • Part of the morning announcements every day
How Are We After Year Six? • We were told that the greatest challenge is with high schools. • We are focusing on our faculty as well as our students. • We are continuing to get faculty members to buy-in to the PBIS approach. • Our focus/theme is FAMILY, COMMITMENT and RENEWAL.
We Are One Big Happy Family • Student of the Month Breakfasts • Honor Roll Breakfast • Luck of the Draw • Incentive Centers and Cart • Car Wash • Classic Car Show • Attendance Incentives • Sale of Ice Cold Water in the Media Center • Sale of Snacks and Drinks in the School Store • Knights Out Celebrations

It Takes a Team Approach • Team members from each department • Getting the Community Involved • North County Business Advisory Board Partnership • Fundraising • Incentives • Adding students and parents to the team
Address the Data: Implications and Improvements • Are we happy with the data? • Top 3 • Comparison over the years • Share Data with the Faculty • How can we improve…. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Look Beyond the Data… • Don’t just focus on the numbers. • Spend time re-building morale and relationships among your staff. • Better staff climate will translate into better student climate. • Look at the culture of your school. • Be willing to have those “courageous conversations”.
How Are We Getting There? • Focusing on the data • Dedication • Teamwork • Hard Work • Family Unity
