A little bit about me…. • Teaching at PR for 17 years • BS and MS from Eastern Illinois University in Physics • AP Test Reader for 5 years • 60 + Hours of Education classes • Coached Volleyball at CLC for 11 years • Volunteer and Foster mom for many years • Mom to a 5 year old lil girl- Ella and two large hounds- Bud and Baron

  3. A little bit about the class… • Spring exam for college credit • One semester of algebra based college physics • Prepare for the pace and rigor of college • New challenges • Modeling approach • Social Emotional Learning • Get HELP!

  6. How will my grade be determined? Quarter Grade: • Formative 10% • Performance 10% • Summative80% Semester Grade: • 40% Quarter One • 40% Quarter Two • 20% Semester Exam

Things that are Expected of you as students… • Come each day prepared with homework completed • Participate in class labs discussions, and activities • Ask questions or seek help when you are confused • Be here every day on time ready to work! • Open your minds to appreciate the physics around you!

  8. Rules to Follow to fit in… No cell phones in class unless we are using it (2 hr Sat) No I-Pods/ music devices allowed in class at anytime unless I have given you permission for independent work time (=Step) Be nice and have fun! Take care of each other

See me for help! • Participate in discussions, play an active role in your learning • Form study groups • Start reviewing early! • Come to any and all review sessions! • Recognize the importance of physics in preparing for college. • Realize you are being given an awesome opportunity to save yourself time and money!
