COMPENTENCIA CONSTITUCIONAL Constitución del Ecuador, 2008: «Art. 215.- La Defensoría del Pueblo tendrá como funciones la protección y tutela de los derechos de los habitantes del Ecuador y la defensa de los habitantes que estén fuera del país» Serán sus atribuciones: • Patrocinio • Emitir medidas de cumplimiento obligatorio • Investigar y resolver en relación a la prestación de servicios públicos • Ejercer y promover la vigilancia del debido proceso • Prevenir la tortura, los tratos crueles, inhumanos y degradantes Art. 134. faculta a la Defensoría del Pueblo a presentar Proyectos de Ley

OTRAS ACCIONES • Programa lucha contra la violencia y la no discriminación • Proyecto ACNUR – Fortalecimiento institucional de la Defensoría del Pueblo para la promoción y protección de los derechos de las personas en situación de movilidad (2010-2013) • Acciones de tutela: a nivel nacional y local (contratación de personal- Imbabura, Sucumbíos, Orellana, San Lorenzo, Carchi y Guayas) • Incidencia: Ley de Movilidad Humana • Educación: Sensibilización • Retos Locales : Imbabura, Carchi, Sucumbios y Guayas • Redes y mesas de movilidad

  9. ACTIVIDADES DE COOPERACIÓN Objetivo: Promover y proteger los derechos de los ecuatorianos y ecuatorianas en el exterior, y de las personas en situación de movilidad en nuestro país.
