  6. Why join an association? Required memberships Looking for an opportunity to advance their careers Looking for service opportunities • Networking opportunities • Desire to gain relevant experience • Demonstrate professional achievement

  7. Revisiting NCLA’s purpose To promote libraries To promote library and information services To support intellectual freedom and literacy To provide a forum for networking, continuing education & training
