“Early Access” Pilot Project • Pilot Participants – Adams & Madison projects • Documents Compass converted all items to standard XML format for online access • Documents Compass improved transcripts via a verification process • 10/2009 - 5,065 documents made available by UVA Press in a free “Early Access” section of Rotunda website FFAC
Founders Online Initiative Goals - • Phase 1 - Published materials (242 vols) freely available online by 2013 (Franklin Papers participation pending) • Phase 2 - Unpublished transcripts freely available online available via same resource • Phase 3 - Ongoing maintenance of this new resource as new volumes emerge and transcripts are completed and annotated FFAC
